That's literally the ONLY Stones song I can stand to listen to. I love the song, and don't even like any other Stones tunes.

"Satisfaction." Only because I had to hear it for the first time on a REALLY good theatre sound system during that scene in "Porklips Now" where the guys are going up river in the PT boat. Every time I hear it, that scene flashes in my head.

Then again, Whoopie Goldberg did a cute dance in bunny slippers in "Jumping Jack Flash"... I hear that song, I think Whoopie Goldberg's bunny slippers. I think they were bunnies. Might have been penguins. Fun movie, that was.


I guess they're tied.

Dylan didnt release 'Like a Rolling Stone' til 1965. The Rolling Stones have been around since 1962.

The title is taken from the phrase "A rolling stone gathers no moss." Dylan got the idea from the Hank Williams song "Lost Highway," which contains the line, "I'm a rolling stone, I'm alone and lost."

The song is rumoured to be about Edie Sedgwick, one of Andy Warhol' s muses. In the song 'Neapolean in rags' refers to Warhol.
There's a movie out about her out lately 'Factory Girl'.

However the Rolling Stones did cover 'Like a Rolling Stone' on their 1995 album Stripped

I'm not a Rolling Stones' fan, but I do like Ruby Tuesday.

ok first, bob dylan is probably one of the greatest ever. hes the man with the hand, why do you think all these chicken bands cover his songs? including the rolling stones? please son. bob dylan didnt get any of the lyrics, music or anything from "like a rolling stone" from anyone. and THAT is what makes a song, an idea? for it maybe, but that does not make a song great at all. theres a lot more that goes into a song than just an idea.

Yeah I really like the Stones 'Still Life' live album from 1981

Saw them play in 2003. Great live band.

They have made a great contribution to music. No wonder they were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1989, and in 2004 they were ranked Number 4 in Rolling Stone Magazine's 100 Greatest Artists of All Time (just behind Elvis, Dylan and the Beatles)
