I had a classmate who is a catman(male equivalent of catlady). He told me about cats' mating rituals. 8O

That's enough to melt anyone's heart. No more cat smileys are needed.

While living abroad I've noticed that cats and dogs meow and bark in a slightly different way. This is reflected in the way their voices are represented in the human language of the particular country.

I've never heard a cat meow in English.

Question,

Suppose, in the land of make-believe, a dog laid an egg from which a cat hatched. Would you consider it a dog egg or a cat egg?

Wow, that's really interesting. I wonder if that means they would come off as different to each other and maybe even have problems understanding each other?

Good point. When I lived in Germany years ago I had a dog who was born there, so he was used to communicating with 'German-speaking' dogs and barked like they did. Then we moved back to the UK, and I noticed that he didn't interact with the British dogs quite so much. And after a while his bark changed slightly, it's hard to describe but it was different, after which he got on better with the local dogs.

Weird. :o

Me too - although if the Tory Europhobes get their way it might soon be minus Scotland and even Wales.
