I am also making mince and onions in the kitchen so it is a curious mix for the senses.

It is a great feat to refrain from tucking in too early.

A good stew always takes time.

You seem to have a taste for refined (as in elegant), gourmet foods.

My steak and onions is more crude. And it takes like 15 minutes or so. I cook it on a frying pan, along with parboiled rice with a subtle butter flavor.

Mr Ferris made a yummy suggestion that I use my meatballs to make a meatball pasta bake.
I will be doing this on later on but needed to use my mince today so alas had to put it back a few days.
Good food takes time and love.

I was introduced to "mincemeat" by a Trinidadian friend who was flabbergasted that I didn't know that "mincemeat" means "hamburger meat."

Another person was speaking of "A to Zed." He was flabbergasted that I had never heard the term "Zed" before. We call it "Zee."

And just to confuse you more, mincemeat is also a sweet mixture which we make into mince pies and eat at Christmas.
Oh dear I mentioned the C word.

It's so ironic about the "black cat."

It meant "good luck" to you, apparently.
