We're all failures by that definition, because I don't think there's anyone who hasn't done something they're not proud of at one stage.
I've done some horrible things.

Granted my emotional compass is a bit wonky, but I still wouldn't be offended by any of those things dcj.

They are events of your life, their memories cause you ongoing problems. You clearly engage in thought processes about what happened, you don't just accept it as 'fine', which might push it into offensiveness for some.

So your life story isn't tame, but as a piece of writing to offend it is tame. Why would anyone be offended by these stories?
You don't condone what you did - honestly I think you could justify some of it more than you do - and you're honest. Sometimes you're neutral, often remorseful. You suffer for them anyway.

All those events were circumstantial. All of them belong to you. I have no business being offended by them.

Also Raleigh's right, I imagine many of us could post a list of such failures.

I understand why you have the need to tell people about your past and present flaws Dcj. You need to see that people still accept you. Very understandable.
