Will snail mail die out?

It might not die out completely, but it's very reduced. People will probably send postcards from vacation and for Christmas for the foreseeable future but regular mail besides that has been reduced.
No email can ever be the same as finding a letter from a pen pal or others in the mailbox though. It's just not the same.

Not everyone is loving that public things and even banks use more email and bank inbox. A lot of us oldies don't want it that way, and banks have even found that quite a few people don't check notes from their bank. I really hope they reconsider.

Well think about it materially: in the states we get our mail from pig iron General Motors vans which don't seem to be capable of anything else. In Switzerland most of those type routes are covered by regional buses. Scandinavia's getting electric vehicles & Switzerland is doing this next:

I don't think so. There are pen pal clubs that people join, so that they can receive a physical letter from each other.

I can imagine someone (probably hipsters) making it popular again in the next few years.

They would say it is relaxing to write letters, and it will become a new trend like colouring in. It can be seen as a craft, so there will be letter writing kits with nice paper and different types of pens. It will make people want to improve their handwriting or learn things like calligraphy/brush lettering, as well as improve their spelling.

Another good thing they would say about it is that it will make people's days better when they receive a letter that isn't a bill and they know someone was thinking about them and went to the effort to write and send a letter to them.

There would be nicer looking post boxes everywhere, and some might be animal shaped.
