Filling up the hummer feeders.Wild roses and honeysuckle blooming.
Found a snake in a bag of peat moss.Crow at feeder carrying off extra for the nestlings.

I believe there's an oriole singing outside.

The DPW just went around and mulched all the roadside flower beds, so now the whole neighborhood smells like a manure pile.

Wild grapes are blooming.
Toads are trilling.

/\They like oranges and hummingbird feeders.Usually some stop by here on their way north but not any this year and no Rose breasted Grosbeaks either.

Floods in cities.

A tiny fly in my room zooming around my monitor. My first mosquito bite of the year. Lots and lots of May flowers everywhere. Baby bunnies. Nesting crows going berserk cawing and dive boming people (although I think they're done with that by now). I'm expecting to see caterpillars soon.

The French Open is (pun intended) in full swing and Roger and Rafael are doing great!

The Black Locust trees are coming into bloom in my neighborhood -- the last trees to flower -- and that's the sign that spring has come to an end. This weekend will bring this seasonal thread to its close, and unless the antipodeans want to open it up in October, we'll see you all again next year sometime around March.

It's that time of year again.

A Phoebe appeared yesterday in the local park. That's a major sign of spring for sure.

Daffodils have gone over, ornamental cherries are in blossom, my morello cherry is starting to open it’s blossom, the tulips look ready to flower by the end of next week.
Still pretty cold in the morning, but third one in a row without frost: and the little sparrows & tits are singing in the trees.
Think it’s definitely spring in the English Midlands.

Something (or somethings) has been putting out pollen for a couple weeks, pollen that I am allergic to.

A few days ago I rescued a worm that was busy drying out on the sidewalk while I was out walking my dog. First time I've seen any of them this year.

Heard a tree frog sometime last week, again for the first time this year.

Had a brief visit from something that looked like it was probably some sort of leafhopper while I was sitting on the park bench.

And of course, lots of other people out taking walks and doing yard work.

Ticks and mosquitoes are out.Oh joy.
