A robin landed close by while I was in the back yard and gave me a little concert. So I'll call that the first robin of spring.

I feel you there. Someone please pass the (non-Sudafed) decongestant.

A few Canada Geese passing over on their way north. We don't usually get the big vees in the spring, only little groups of fours and fives.

Feel free to pass the Sudafed this way. Preferably by the case.

The hoverflies... well hovering and then darting to another in their airspace and doing battle. While they are occupied in a dogfight, another replaces them in the airspace and the cycle keeps on going.

Robins carrying nesting material this morning. Also, a Mockingbird that won't shut up.

Cardinal nest in our front bushes, both a male and a female have been sighted near the nest. We can't see into it well enough to tell if there are eggs/babies, but the female cardinal has been behaving as though she's trying to draw attention away from the nest, so she may well be trying to protect eggs/babies.

The weather's nice enough today that we have a window open in the living room. I wish I could open the window in my bedroom too, but ever since we had people come and paint the trim on our house, my window has refused to open. Even my dad and my brother combined couldn't get it open. It's also stuck with the storm window open and we can't open it to close that, so my room is extra hot in summer and extra cold in winter.
