Kingbirds returned today – a few days later than in previous years.

Mockingbirds are on their second nest – two eggs in it today.

tourism booming on vashon. deli has finally gotten busy.

Cabbage White and Peacock butterflies, plus a streak of electric blue I think was a damselfly.

Two juvenile (could fly but didn’t have their adult coloration yet) blue jays in one of the trees in the backyard, plus a robin, and two squirrels (moving somewhat slowly with one closely following the other, they looked kind of like a couple trying to slip into a bedroom for some “private time” They actually could have been a male and a female wanting to make baby squirrels, for all I know, I ought to go out and check for a nest. That’d be cool if we got to watch a squirrel family grow up.).

Just heard a nighthawk out the window — first of the year.

Pigeon eggs are falling off the roof again. The waterfowl are fighting a lot.

I left my scarf at home yesterday afternoon. Still need it for the pre-dawn walk to work, though.

There were more motorcycles on the road last Saturday than any day so far this year! We were out for a little ~140km ride. Going to be a lot of longer ones than that! Early September we did 690km in a day. There's one ride we Might do in a day that would be ~900km by the time we got home.
