Lots of cheery tree blossoms and other trees with flowers.

buds coming out of the branches. 60 degrees and dampish. what passes for early spring here in the great pacific northwest.

On a 10 mile hike yesterday we saw:

-waterfalls
-inchworms dangling everywhere
-caterpillars crawling across the trail
-western fence lizard hatchlings
-flowers everywhere
-green grass a foot tall
-birds, birds, birds!

Then again, if it doesn't rain again soon we'll be heading into "Summer" (dry season) in two or three weeks...

Allergies. To quote the gourmand Justin Wilson, my nose has been going athletic on me for the past week.

then first heavy dumping of yellow pollens on my windshield in a while now.

Chickadees singing for the first time today.

@#$% birdbrained woodypeckers catcalling and pecking on my metal tin can roof and waking me up at 0-dark-thirty

The birds are singing! Hooray!

First daffodils in flower across the street today, and tomorrow ... the weatherman says two inches of snow with wind gusts to 55 mph.

The Lilacs start to bloom and the butterflies return!! !

The sun is out, and it's now snowing.

The sun was warm but the wind was chill.

Today's sign of spring: light fluffy snow coming down, with another 2-3 inches expected.

The poor Robins are flying around in the heavy snow, with all the ground covered up and all their food hidden.
