I was in 6th or 7th grade, at school, and I think I was in the "resource room," home base for the HFA people.

when i hadda go back to work the next day, there were military checkpoints everywhere, and hospital orderlies [i worked at madigan army med center] were transformed into BDU-wearing MPs with their M16 rifles at port arms, pacing back and forth around the perimeter of the hospital.

I had started 9th grade. I woke up to hear the news, and I was just traumatized by it for the rest of the day.
