your neighbour is a grouch living in a garbage can?

Actually, do you still have garbage cans or do you now have wheelie bins ?

edit - how silly am I, I thought you meant sesame street. I didn't notice the link to the pictures on your post.

Port Richmond looks a lot like parts of Melbourne

Are you saying Brisbane is backwards  ???

We have had wheelie bins for ages. I think the last time I saw a garbage bin was maybe around the early eighties???

A view of Mauna Kea in the background (13,796 feet), with Coconut Island in the foreground (a park in Hilo Bay)

An aerial shot of lava flow covering what used to be a subdivision (notice the streets) - this picture is about a month old. The volcano is Kilauea Volcano, about 30 minutes from where I live:

The closest beach, it is black sand from lava:

I took this from the top of a parking garage. It has a great example of typical spindley wimpy front range cloud coverge that always fails to shield my sensitive eyes from the horrible horrible sun:

That is freaking insane. If I lived near that beach, I'd live on that beach.

do you spend much time there? (and have you posted on the "what do you wear at the beach" topic?

What's the texture of the sand like? Black sand seems weird to me.

Apatura, I thought your last post was a reference to living near Sesame St. I only saw the link to real photos.

Many of the shops reminded me of Preston/Northcote in Melbourne
