'quaint archaisms'

This shows how English is taught in schools around the world, Proper English is in blue, your lesser version is in red.

^ You drive a hard bargain there, ms. fluffy. I'm going to have you appointed Mistress of the Mint in my new government.

Here's your latest funny-looking ancient king, Vologases IV, King of Parthia, circa AD 147-191:

There are MANY Spock variants on the old Canadian $5 bills, like this one.

"Upon news of Leonard Nimoy’s passing last Friday, The Canadian Design Resource (CDR) tweeted a call to arms:

“Spocking fives,” as it’s called, is not a new campaign but in fact a fine Canadian tradition that involves etching the beloved Vulcan’s profile over Canada’s seventh prime minister Sir Wilfrid Laurier on the five-dollar banknote."

Here are my old US pennies I have collected over the years. Might not be the best picture...

I have seven "wheat pennies" from the 1950's and 1940's and one rare "Indian Head Penny" made in 1900. I've seen some made in the 1800's even.

I've had quite a few magic gimmick coins in my life , they were not cheap but I think they just got spent with normal currency. The ones I still have are out of date now they've updated the pound coin :(

Fiji did a Coke Santa coin last year, 2017. It's going for like $50 on eBay. I may buy one after I get my eBay bux.

Quote:
The world’s biggest gold coin, minted by the Perth Mint, an Australian third branch company that manufactures coins, measures 80 centimeters wide,13 centimeters deep and weighs 1, 012 kilograms. This magnificent coin is made from 99, 99 % of pure gold and has a legal tender value of $ 1 million AU.

It took 18 months to be made, but it was awarded with the title of the ‘largest coin’ by Guinness World Records committee.

The Australian Kangaroo One Tonne Gold Coin, with a portrait of the Queen Elizabeth II on the obverse, and the red kangaroo on the reverse, has a symbolic value, too. It represents Her Majesty’s recent visit to Australia, but at the same time, the most iconic figure of Australia, the kangaroo, represents national and cultural mark.
