I was going through my collection and my GF said I should sell them before I die which pissed me off so I boxed them back up so I will have to post other peoples notes. These are not exactly strange but interesting to me.

I was just going through my American currency and I had an East Haddam $5 dollars - not issued or numbered

"Australia Released a Banknote With a Typo, And Nobody Noticed For 6 Months"

https://www.sciencealert.com/australia- ... r-6-months

Although to be fair, you pretty much need a microscope to see it.

Yes, that's correct. The word we're looking for is "responsibility," or, as the storied Reserve Bank of Australia has it: "responsibilty." The mistake is repeated twice on the same bank note.

The words are part of Cowan's inaugural speech in July 1921, in which she said: "It is a great responsibility to be the only woman here, and I want to emphasise the necessity which exists for other women being here."

Under the Currency & Banknotes Act 1928 it is illegal to deface banknotes by printing, writing or impressing upon them words, letters or figures.

Will that increase the value of the notes WITH the error? I'm guessing it would like with upside down stamps.

Aside: It is a fabulous irony that an act of irresponsibility on the part of the typesetter(or whatever they are called) resulted in this error.

I think they went into general circulation, so there are millions of them. So, no likely premium. (But that means they'll be easy to get for anyone so inclined.)

Makes sense.
Perhaps the original print block or whatever the original is called might have some value. Shrugs* I'm way out of my league in this topic, as you can tell.

I suspect that somewhere, somehow, there is a ferret behind this.
