Lots of early morning fog. Heavily overcast skies. Being able to sleep without a fan going. Being able to sleep with a light blanket. Far less tourists.

Toads, toads everywhere! It makes me happy to see them, but I worry that when I take my dog for a walk, he might hurt them (intentionally or not).

Also, mushrooms in our front yard.

the bats do that for me, flying under my porch at breakneck speed, all year 'round. but the sight of piles of bright orange fir needles on my roof is a sure fall sign.

^^^ Yes, gay feather is another common name. I think I learned blazing star first so that name stuck with me.
