The future is uncertain. I can't see which one will be a winner. 4K TV prices are dropping like dead flies. By Christmas 2017 , I predict HDR 4Ks will be as cheap as a 1080p LED right now.
Last week, I bought my first Blu-ray movie. Thinking now , I'm wondering if that was a mistake. I suddenly jumped on the Blu-ray wagon. After 7 years , I've decided to start buying Blu-ray's after buying DVDs since 2004.
I've got a massive VHS library. 90 percent of it is EP mode tapes recorded off the TV the last 30 years. No idea what to do with them. It will cost a fortune to replace it all.
I also have like 3 or 4 Betamax tapes dating back to like 1984. I have a top loading Beta VCR in my garage. It's huge ! With piano keys. Must weigh like 10 pounds.
What do you all think ? Streaming or 4K HD ? What will be the future for home video ? I say streaming is great but has a long way to go before it's perfect. 4K is amazing and I think is a good upgrade. But won't do until Television is 4K. Right now the highest is 1080i for cable.
