Nothing wrong with some of those. Blackberries, figs or peaches on a pizza seems a bit iffy though.

I had to respond to this one as my husband and I were discussing this very topic earlier ( though I can't remember why ).
My husband and daughter both agree with you eclecticwarrior, they think pineapple is just wrong
I on the other hand honestly without meaning to offend think you're all crazy.
Pineapple makes a pizza , its needed ok.
Now egg on the other hand, they put it on what they call an Aussie pizza here.
Now that's yuck.
:D

I like pineapple, bacon, pesto, and some spinach on a pizza. Pineapple particularly is delicious on some pizzas.

Apparently there are even people who don't want bell pepper on their pizza, while I think most pizzas need it.

Except for eggs, I wouldn't call any of those ingredients controversial.

I see nothing wrong with pineapple on a pizza now that I've tried it, and I used to be so opposed to it. I think what people get stuck on is that they visualize the pineapple's taste when it's raw and immediately decide from that that it doesn't belong, but from trying it the baking actually changes the pineapple to be more mellow so it actually mingles with the pizza better than expected and I'm willing to bet that it would be the same for other fruit as well.

I think they sound like some pretty interesting pizza toppings.

Figs are delightful in some combinations. My favorite pizza I make myself is just a simple, thin red sauce with fresh basil leaves, fresh mozzarella (my wife makes this), and sliced dried figs. It's a variation on the famous Margherita.

Those pizza toppings or combo pizza toppings do NOT sound appetizing to me but that's because I'm a very picky eater & wouldn't eat that stuff even when it's not on pizza. I don't even know what some of those toppings are or even how to pronounce some of it. I do like bacon & hamburger on pizza but I don't like the other topping that is on with either of those. I do like shrimp too but I'm picky about how I like it; I'm from cajun country & like it fried &/or well seasoned which I'm sure I wouldn't get on a pizza.

Finally got a chance to look at the list. About the only ones I'm wary of are the hemp, courgette and beetroot. Neither are ingredients I've tried, so I can't comment how they would even be on a pizza.

You know, when I read this post, I was expecting to find some real controversial toppings like beetles, crickets, mealworms, casu marzu, grubs, that sort of thing.

Bacon and caramelised onions, shrimp, pineapple, and spinach and pesto make for great toppings.

I often feel like eating shrimp pizza, but no one I know likes that. And that's unfortunate, as I tend to only get take-out when with others.

Surprised anchovies aren't on the list! The Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles wouldn't be impressed . . .

I LOVE pineapple on my pizza! I was surprised to learn that Hawaiian pizza was really created in Canada. There is also poutine pizza now, but that just sounds ewww.

My least favorite toppings are any kind of fish or seafood. Fish on pizza sounds like some kind of a sick joke.

Onions would repeat on me forever and cause other embarrassing problems. I never eat them before I go out.

The pineapple is yucky.

Sweets and meat are not something that would mix too well together with me. I imagine they would taste pretty nasty the second time around. (The same effect as with onions).
