Sorry to hear that. Don't expect too much out of friendship with this one, a lot of people avoid people with injuries-- it's a reminder of how fragile they are. I'm assuming you're on crutches, as long as you don't live up a flight of stairs most things you would normally do you can do with crutches, you just have to move slower doing them and be a little more careful. The worst part for me was not getting my cast wet. When I broke my leg it was winter, so there was snow everywhere, not to mention I love a hot bath, which was out of the question because there was no place to put my leg, lol. Assuming the break wasn't really bad and you're not over 50 you shouldn't be in a cast more than 6 weeks, and 4 weeks is more the norm, so it's not a long time, you just have to tough it out a little while. Anyhow, I hope you a quick recovery.

How'd you break your leg?

I cyber-sign your cast.

These days, though, you might not be in a cast. You might be in a walking-boot kind of thing.

I'm sorry you broke your leg; I know it's a painful injury.

Make sure you do the physical therapy required of you; if you're in a cast, the leg will look very thin once the cast in removed.

I didn't do the physical therapy required of me when I broke my elbow; I am now deformed there.

i feel asleep early because of the medicines.

the bad thing is that there is a huge flight of stairs in front of my house :/ it was really awful to get home after the hospital, more awful because I had to be taken care by strangers (since I fell, I'm rely on very kind strangers that got me to the hospital, comforted me when I fell, drive me back home, help with my stuff on the stair, i bought food and the delivery guy went also to the shop nearby to get me water etc).

currently i have a provisory bandage, and tomorrow I'll see a specialist who will determine actually what should I do – isn't a weird system? the emergency hospital don't have specialists here, i'm not used to that. from the x-ray it seems actually that i didn't break anything, but the bone/joint dislocated – i don't know the proper name so that's why i'm using that i break it.

my mother will arrive soon (I live alone) and tomorrow I'll know better about how I'll do :/

Thank you all for the support and good wishes.

It could be "dislocated," which can just as bad as a fracture/break, or it might not be so bad.

Or maybe you're "lucky," and just got a "sprain."

I hope things get better for you.

I'm so sorry for your trouble. And the uncertainties aren't making it any better. I hope you get some healing rest. Let us know how you go.

I had a dislocated shoulder once. It's sore for a while, but otherwise you shouldn't run into too many problems if it was just a dislocation and you didn't get the nerve pinched or trapped in the socket, and you got professional help. I reset mine myself so it wasn't done very well and ended up having to have physiotherapy.
Your friends may not have been much help, but at least the kindness of strangers was made obvious to you, and your mum is willing to help you out. Hopefully it's just sprained!

That sux. I'm really sorry you broke your leg & noone seemed to care. The way I see it is you found out who you don't have to waist your time being nice to. Next time someone other than your mom ask you to do something, ask them Where were you when I hurt my leg.

The world can be so rotten sometimes. Nobody even messaged you! What is going on exactly, did your Mom stay or just drop by? Sometimes people think if the Mom is taking care, then they shouldn't interrupt. Do you have supplies, food, etc.? Have you been back to the doctor, any result with the cast?

my mom is staying with me, she also told me that, that maybe people thought that as she was with me, i didn't need anyone else I just don't buy it because before she came, i did need some people and i asked for it and nobody helped. i needed to drink water from the bathroom tap (which isn't safe to drink) because i couldn't go to the kitchen where i could get safe water, then the delivery guy went to a shop and bought me water... a total stranger cared more than my "friends". also my cat spent a day without food because i couldn't get it.

anyway, my mom came and is taking care of me. i wasn't feeling pain anymore until yesterday, it started to hurt so bad, but anyway i'm going tomorrow to the orthopedist and i hope it's healing.
