That sounds like what I've heard of New York City.

I was raised to see casinos as evil places for stupid people but I've always thought it'd be fun to just take $100 (tell myself that's ALL I'm going to spend) and spend the day there and see what I come out with. Do you guys think that's a good idea? I would probably have to spend all day on the slot machines since I suck at card games like poker. I just don't have the ability to bluff and count cards and things like that. What are your guys' experiences with casinos?

Betting against the house seems like a pretty illogical endeavor if you like your money.

I do enjoy casinos though. I learned to play poker and I can sit at a poker table playing No-Limit Hold Em for hours on end and with very conservative play can break even, or make a little money over the long run (I keep spreadsheets with data on all my playing sessions). I perform better in tournaments because those are more based on math where playing in a cash game requires more personal reads of your opponents which can be difficult if you can't convert their actions to a mathematical purpose.

Did a little bit of that with modest success in my... interesting youth. The only rule or "method" is quit while you're ahead. But I wasn't greedy and never really understood the thrill of gambling.
