Isn't this a sexist statement?

Depends on the girl. If I was told I hit like a female kickboxing champ that would be a compliment?

It is if it's said as an insult, but as above post has put, if taken literally, it doesn't have to be. Depends which girl.

Towards whom? On one side of the equation, it's simply stating that girls are weaker than boys. This is true, functioning as a general rule. It also tells boys that they have to be physically impressive or else they lose their man-card. I think the latter might be more damaging, but then I'm biased.

As a girl that beat up a lot of boys, I think I agree with this. It's easier to be a tomboy as a kid than a weak boy I think. There's too much machismo pressure going around today.

At the same time boys were stronger than me for sure. I punched a bully in the back of the neck in second grade (low blow but he said something and turned around). He turned back around and knocked the wind out of me by punching me in my diaphragm. From then on I faced a bully head on properly and wrestled them into submission. I wasn't stronger, just better at manipulating my body weight and using my stature against them. I found that I fought to prove a point or defend someone, whereas boys fought to hurt me and assert their dominance. Machismo at it's worst.

It is homophobic. It is used to imply the person being insulted is weak, not fully male.

I saw an interesting demonstration at a college softball game once. They got a few male volunteers from the audience, some with high school baseball experience, and put them at the plate with a bat and a softball pitcher throwing the ball to them. Even though the pitcher threw nothing but strikes, not a one of them could get a hit.

It's sexist because it's implying that women are not as good at baseball as men

Strength isn't always necessary. A lot of bullies don't like a quick jab to the face and will move onto targets that aren't so fast.

It's technically true that most men are born with more muscular mass and physical strength than women.

According to my peers growing up I did EVERYTHING like a girl. So, I began to side with the girls on EVERYTHING. Only in college did I start to have respect for a small handful of men. At the same time, though, I became a staunch feminist and almost had a full minor in women's studies

I'm a girl with a lot of years' experience in Tae Kwon Do, and while I may lack the upper body strength of the average male I'm pretty skilled at using leverage and momentum to make an impact. Yes, I hit like a girl, and I will wreck any guy who thinks using that as an insult to my face is a good idea. ;)
