Does anyone here look at real estate listings for fun? I do. I not only look at them in my area, but when I'm bored and I have the time I also look at them in different parts of the world.

Here is an example of a property on Lake Superior in upper Michigan that I think would be great to live on.

The house is nice but not my favorite part of the listing. The land. Oh, the land!

Ooh, I have a new favorite in Toledo, Spain.

Magna's dream home...

Until it's replaced with another contender!

It's fun to dream!

I look at real estate listing sometimes. I only look at places I know I can afford.

I love doing that in my free time. I get inspiration from it.

I have been looking at property in different areas lately.

Mainly I look at those I might be able to afford but sometimes I do look at others which are outside my budget.

Although I am not ready to move this very moment, it helps me to get an idea of what I could buy and what is available allowing me to research the areas.

My aim is to downsize and be better off financially - the stress of a mortgage can be exhausting and take away from enjoying my home.

I guess I am lucky to be in this position as my brother recently pointed out. House prices have gone bonkers in the last 10-15 years making it impossible for some to consider having their own home.

I have fun imagining what I could do with a new home and the changes I could make to create my own identity within that space. Also I like to get inspiration.

occasionally

specifically, I am looking up cabins atm and alternatively ways to build one myself. It's so fun to think about the possibilities and what I could do with the space...

When I win the lottery, I'll be in a home similar to these. I just hope I win when I can move into a home like these. I'd prefer single floor plan, with maybe a lookout. Lots of land around it, so I don't hear the neighbours. Although some of the homes highlighted here you don't even see a neighbour!

Lol I do and its totally a habit I got from my mom.
HGTV is her best friend, she loves looking at properties. In fact, she'll actually drag my dad around looking at them because she is always trying to search for the 'perfect farm' to move to. My mom loves interior decorating and having a new project would make her day. She apparently didnt get it out of her system on our new condo, so she's been looking for a farm to move to now more than ever. Drives my dad nuts! He loves our property and is insistent that adding a donkey to the mix is not going to make his life any better. Drives me and my brothers nuts trying to imagine packing up 17 years of crap!

(Of course me and my mom both look at dream properties too. I think thats typical of people tho. I admire dream horses the same way my dad admires dream cars and my brother dream watches)
