I'd have to go with the "viking" longships... just because of how crazy they were to essentially sail a glorified canoe across the North Sea and all the way to North America. They were pretty amazing designs, for their time... light, flexible, shallow draft.

I have a soft spot for some of the CalMac ferries which plied to the Western Isles, particularly the ones which entered service around 1989 which still had a stern lift and semi open car deck.

However I was not fond of a ship called The Claymore, which had terrible riding and made at least half the passengers sick on a rough crossing to Barra I endured back in May 1989.

A cute, canonical OTP.

I must be a bit weird, then. I have a tendency to really like non-canon shippings.

As an actual float on the ocean kind of ship.. just for aesthetics, some sort of pirate ship/tall ship style boat. I might have to think about this a lot more in depth next Winter if I go ahead and start getting more tattoos done, as I'll need to select a ship to use as part of a tattoo idea I want to have done.

I've been aboard this ship. The Lady Washington. Got kinda boring after a while tbh.

I have many kinds of faves, but some of the best ones are sailboats, battleships, schooners, yachts and many more. Those ones are the best, a huge fan of boats and ships right here :)

The Bluenose II and the other Tall Ships that occasionally come to the harbor during special events are pretty cool-looking, but I wouldn't go riding on one even if I had the chance :( .

I like various kinds of ship. :)

I'm most interested in ocean liners and cruise ships. I particularly like the steam age (especially ships run by P&O, White Star and Cunard), but I like more recent cruise ships, too. My favourite modern cruise ship class is the Royal class, several members of which are run by existing UK-based shipping companies.

My favourite type of warship is the Royal Navy County class heavy cruisers, which were operated principally during the Second World War and the immediate post-war period. One of my granddads was based on one, HMS Cumberland, during his early years in the Navy.

Finally, I have a special fondness for paddle steamers.
