I'd like to think 1st of December is a good time to get into Christmas chatter. Planning Christmas dinners, hyping up the kiddos about Santa.
But honestly, it always comes to mind the day after Halloween as it is the next major event in the callendar year. And stores usually display Christmas decorations after black friday.

How early is too early?

I think summer is too early. Anything after September is fine imo.

If you MUST talk about it...then wait til after Thanksgiving.

Okay...I relent. Make it after Halloween. Halloween is the cutoff.

So RIGHT now, Nov. first, you can start talking about it.

IMO, the latter part of September or the early part of October.

I don't celebrate Christmas (nothing religious, I just don't celebrate anything except an eclipse or an equinox because I'll only celebrate things with astronomical significance, generally) but in terms of the few presents I need to buy, a week before Christmas I'll do my Amazon orders for the people that want presents.

Thanksgiving is in October so that's not a consideration for me.

Traditionally we wait until after Remembrance Day, so veterans get honoured first.

Even more traditionally we wait for the Santa Claus Parade (119th annual, this year.)
It's on the third Sunday of November.
That's considered the official start of the Christmas season.

I listen to Christmas music as a stim whenever I need it (year-round).
I have a few Christmas lights up all year, also as a stim.
We don't put trees or any other decor up until just before the parade.
Then it stays up until around March.

364 shopping days for Christmas is not early enough for some people

My mom asked me to write up a list of what I'd like for Christmas this year. I was going to put an apocalypse shelter for when WW3 breaks out, but chickened out at the last second. Also only rich and "important" people can get such things built, cave-dwelling NEETs like me are nothing but a burden on society.

December 1st, unless it’s to talk about presents, in which case the earlier the better.

My daughter mentioned some books she wanted about a month ago.
My son asked me for concert tickets today.

Things are starting to roll.

My daughter wanted the gingham-covered Little House on the Prairie set from the 90s.
I ordered it on eBay about a month ago but haven't got it yet.
Thanks for reminding me.

I know what you mean. I'm kinda surprised WW3 hasn't happened yet or a 2nd American civil war. I would like to build a shelter out of Kegos if I could get them & had a place to build

Better not be talking to me about anything before 8am, and if you really want to be sure I'm paying attention I'd recommend any time after 11am through to about 11pm.
