Why didn't Noah swat those two flies that were onboard the ark?

Flies are very efficient pollinators of some plants; schools teach that bees are (and they are the champs) but tend to ignore the other species whose pollination efforts are very important to food supply for humans.

And male mosquitoes pollinate night blooming plants.

When I was but a wee lad I believe it was a gas station that was giving away some plastic Noah's ark animals and this was pretty exciting at the time.

The story of Noah's Ark is part of the flood myth in the Christian bible and other places.

While Noah's Ark contradicts the established scientific consensus, it is a relatively common belief in the United States. In 2004, 60% of Americans said they believed in the literal truth of the story.

He wanted to, but he obeyed God and did not swat them.

Actually (a) he didn't need to collect a single mating pair anyway. Flies would have just come to the ark from the surroundings anyway.

(b)Flies reproduce frequently and would have been fruitful and multiplied right there on the ark while the flood was still going on. And (c) the ark was a floating zoo full of dung and after forty days was doubtless swarming with billions of flies. So it wouldn't have mattered if he and his crew had swatted a few of them. They wouldn't have gone extinct.
