Having been a casual watcher of YouTube since it's launch, I have to say that I have noticed a significant increase in commercialization, and thus a severe decline in the quality of recommended videos on their home page.

Most videos recommended seem to be from commercial content providers, and have grossly distorted and misleading thumbnails, often of a sexually suggestive nature which are not in line with my viewing habits. The content of the videos are akin to daytime TV and tabloid trash, which I have no interest in, and the titles are often nothing but clickbait.

It is as if most of the food in the world has become McDonald's, Burger King, or Taco Bell.

What a shame. We are in an epoch of the decline of diversity on the internet.
