Anyone here remember when "game boy" was commonly used as a generic term for any handheld game console?

No, but I have one.
I have a few handheld consoles so that I can play all my pokemon games.
It takes a minimum of three.

The big original size yellow, red, green, blue, silver, gold, and crystal
One with a slot for the next version, emerald, sapphire, ruby, leaf green, fire red.
One that can play the next version, will also play either the above or below, heart gold, soul silver, diamond, pearl, platinum, black, white, black 2, white 2
One that can play 3ds games; X, Y, omega ruby, alpha sapphire. sun, moon.

I have all the games, so I need to be able to play them.

Yeah, and I still call them Gameboy when I don't say DS.

I sold my original Gameboy years ago, still have Pocket, Color, SP and Advance, and plenty pf games for them. I really wish Nintendo would give out a machine that would play these old games, and I don't mean as virtual downloads.
