I love rain, and not for the reasons that you might assume. For me, it is the only time where I can get the beach to myself.... I can be alone avoiding crowds. I can be my natural self! Getting wet is a small sacrifice to pay for such a luxorius priveledge!

Oh, yes, the seaside is so great at "bad" weather!
This is also why I prefer to visit popular tourist spots in November - the "ugliest" time of the year here.

Rain is beautiful. Just not the aftermath. November is my favourite month, too!

I love spring. But I love the rain. Not sure I like getting wet, but once I am in it, I enjoy it.

I prefer autumn rain to spring rain, because it's colder and more miserable. lol
That tends to keep the aftermath away.

Looking gloomy. Rain coming!

Image

I took shelter in here. This used to house a large WW2 gun with a 21 mile range so it could sink passing ships on the horizon.

Part of the old building I sheltered in...

The rain came...

Image

The rain relly came!

Image

Not surprizing that I had the beach to myself at that moment. The tide was in and splashing up onto the rocks and railway embankment which was built in the late 1840's. At least the rain had eased off a bit...

Rain is both a blessing and a curse to me. I don't enjoy being wet, but I also don't enjoy heat waves and extremely dry weather.
That's why I found the perfect solution - Autumn or Spring. Not too hot, or too cold. Too bad you can't skip seasons with the press of a button...

I love living in the Pacific Northwest which is famous/infamous for its gray skies and rainfall.

I have not seen such heavy rain for a while. I was able to capture it in one of the pictures. Last time we went there in the rain, there is an old stone church near there we went in. It was open. It was lovely! It is just in the trees to the right of the sea wall.
The coastal area behind the view of the photos stood a village which was washed away by the tsunami of 1607 and also other storms. Remains of a few buildings can be found which have substantial dressed blue colour stones.
The view you like.. If you look in the distance there is a place called Llanstephan which is the opposite side of the estuary, and if I had zoomed in and panned right a bit there is a castle on the hill to explore. The area is where three estuaries meet, and each estuary has a castle. :)

'Ok' because it's necessary, I think.
I myself don't mind being drenched, it's just I don't favor the cold well.
And dislike it more whenever people here fuss a lot about it. Could be better, could be worse.

Mainly because storm season exists here.

Any weather or occasion just do for me though. It's the people and their fussing that seriously puts me off.
So yes, I like the idea making any bad weather a best way to go out alone and have the whole place for myself.
It's sometimes what I do at intense summer heat waves instead of during/after ongoing storm signals -- both of which are potentially dangerous.

I like rain in the winter, as in the persistent type that maintains a mild weather front and keeps the ice, frost and snow away.

I don't like persistent rain in the summer though. I prefer it dry and hot. But I do love thundery rain showers in the summer, like heavy showers or hailstones.

Spring rain is nice.

I love rain, perhaps because it is somewhat rare where I live.

I also love the rain. I notice that I have more energy when it rains.
