I was removing an outside vent covering and there was a nest of wasps inside. One wasp stung my arm and then my hand. I immediately stepped back and then went inside the house.

There is a secret to wasp stings. If you apply a moist Bayer aspirin to the sting, it helps to reduce the pain and also the swelling. So this is the approach I took immediately and I have no swelling, just a little pain.

Then I took a can of hornet/wasp spray and sprayed the nest, killing almost all the wasp instantly. I hate wasps.

I’m glad you’re not allergic to wasp stings.

I think you’ll make it, somehow

Meat tenderizer also works. Moisten and put on wasp or bee sting.

Wasps are amazing pollinators. They are also great predators in the world of insects. Some parasitize caterpillars, decreasing crop pests. Wasps are food for many birds. They are also fascinating to watch. :D

One of my greatest fears in life since I was a child is getting stung by a wasp or a bee. I have never been and I intend to keep it that way.

A wasp expert walks into a record shop and asks the owner if they have the new edition of wasp sounds 2020.
The shop owner asks if they would like to listen to it before he buys.

The wasp expert agrees and the record is played.
The wasp expert is horrified stating that in all his years of being a wasp expert, he has never heard anything as far from wasp sounds in his life.

The record shop owner looks confused until he notices something.

"Sorry" says the record shop owner, "I was playing it on the bee side!"

bee calm. at least it wasn't a bunch of those giant asian murder hornets which we seem to have entrenched now in the great green northwest.

If you're not allergic it's no big deal, but I get it. If it's any consolation, I'm pushing 60 and I've only been stung once and I was partly to blame as I flexed my arm and caught the poor thing between my forearm and arm. We both survived

i've been stung a number of times, bees are attracted to sweat and in the summer i usually sweat. feels about like getting a shot. there are giant asian "murder" hornets here now, whose sting is many times worse, that would feel like getting shot, multiple times as their stingers are barbless.

Yeah but how disturbing was your immediate reaction :P.

My sister got stung when she was five. I was seven and immediately adjacent to her. Scarred for life. :skull:

one hot summer day, pre-a/c, i was driving with the windows down, and a bee flew in, bounced off my cheek and somehow rolled down the back seat where it proceeded to sting me in the tuchas through 2 layers of denim, involuntarily the cheek that it stung made that leg stomp down onto the gas, and if i had not then been stopped at a stoplight in neutral, i would have caused a wreck. that one was like a thunderclap and it smarted something fierce.

And you don't know if you are allergic. I am--I swell really badly. Perhaps keep some benadryl on hand--that is what I use for insect bites. I use tablets, not the cream.
