She was the black crewmember on Star Trek.

Lt. Uhuru?

She almost dropped out of the cast, but someone persuaded her to stay. That someone was Marten Luther King Jr..

Because she stayed she is still a role model for both Blacks, and for girls, today. So she would be the most socially significant of the list IMHO.

The first interracial kiss on tv was her and Kirk.

My ex used to watch Star Trek and I couldn't stand it so I always left the room. It seemed like a really stupid show.

I remember complaining about the women all wearing such short skirts. My ex said that (apparently) they had a limited costume budget and couldn't afford enough fabric for longer dresses on the women. With my rapier wit I asked why they didn't make the men wear short skirts to save money, too?

He didn't have an answer for that.

I pick Nichelle to go to space. She looks like a smart woman.

Miniskirts were in style at that time.

Men used to wear very short shorts playing in the NBA—till the 80s.

So maybe the men should have worn short shorts?

Chris Pratt, why because he sucks. I do like his character though, Star Lord.

No way that would have sold in the 1960s.

Forget about this gender stuff. If you look at Star Trek objectively, I believe most people would like it. Forget that it was associated with your boyfriend.

I heard it was because women were free to wear what they wanted without people judging them for it “in the future.”None of that “she was asking for it because she dressed that way.”It was about empowerment ,to wear what you wanted without getting molested.
Star Trek had morals , some of the episodes are pretty deep.

Towards the end of the 1960s, an even shorter version of the mini skirt, called the microskirt or micro-mini, emerged. Extremely short skirts, some as much as eight inches above the knee, were observed in Britain in the summer of 1962.

Paramount Television produced Star Trek from January 1968 to June 1969. Star Trek aired on NBC from September 8, 1966, to June 3, 1969....thus, the short skirts.

Alfred Kinsey coverup: For some time, long-time Nazi party member, Dr. Fritz von Balluseck, mailed his on-going child abuse crimes to Kinsey. Von Balluseck's diaries appear to date from 1936 to1956, revealing Balluseck's regular correspondence with Kinsey. In fact, Kinsey sent his sympatico Nazi aide books about child sexuality--books that would have supported and encouraged the serial child predator's incestuous and pedophile crimes.
In the mid 1950s Interpol contacted the Kinsey team for help in locating a child sex killer the team had interviewed. The Kinsey Institute protected their WWII Gestapo agent (as they have always protected all their pedophiles and pederasts). They refused to give his name to Interpol under cover of shielding a possible child murderer from investigation based on "scientific" ethics.
