Regarding religion, they seem to really like cats a lot in Turkey, which is a Muslim country.

The Ancient Egyptians used to worship cats.

Winning the affections of a housecat stokes my ego tremendously.

A dog's affections go to anyone willing to throw a ball.

/\Not exactly true.I have a dog that I saved off the road ,she won’t let anyone touch her but me.She is not aggressive to strangers, but was obviously abused in the past and doesn’t trust anyone but me.
I also know that if attacked ,my dogs would give their life to save me.

I was reading about superstitions last night, and I learned that in Japan it's seen as *good* luck when a black cat crosses your path.

I think that when a black cat crosses your path, it means that they have somewhere to go.

:D Now there's a superstition I can support!

/\Me too, solid black cats are beautiful.
Some people think it’s bad luck to see an owl during daytime ,but I think it’s lucky.
There used to be a Barred one that hung out often. We called it Who.So whenever it was present we’d say, “Who’s here.”
I think it really enjoyed the bird feeder, not for the seeds, but the birds and mice.
Once we saw it catch a frog out of the Lily pond.Poor Kermit.

I'm not really sure. Most of the people I know like all animals. Some of my friends and family have cats, dogs, chickens, goats and other animals. They all live fairly happily together.

I believe if you treat any animal with respect and show them love they will reciprocate. Also, training for any animal that lives closely with humans is a must.

I think any species or breed that gets a bad rap is usually do to human misconduct. Not giving proper training and boundaries, abuse, neglect, not understanding the needs of the animal under your care etc.
