I don't really believe in all the conspiracy theories throughout history and think some I think I just ridiculous. The exception I have is of Kennedy's assassination where I do kind of think Lee Harvey Oswald was not acting alone. I certainly don't think Covid, 911, global warming, etc are conspiracies. I also think the theories that the British Royal Family and other world leaders are aliens ruling the world in human skin suits or that aliens were responsible for the building of the Pyramids or creating the Nazca Lines in Peru as runways for ancient spacecraft are just laughable and absurd.

Same here, they're fun to read and to think up. People believe things that they want to believe when they hear it. I put this into the same genre as psychics. Someone daydreams an idea...say, big pharma is getting rich from covid and the gov't is feeding them more money as to get kickbacks by the mandates. They read something similar on the internet and this confirms their dreamed up idea. We all know there is corruption in the gov't so here is a possibility but sadly...no proof but it could happen!

I don't believe in conspiracy theories except the ones I came up with myself, like that most humans now have a mild to moderate case of "Mad Hatter Syndrome" from the mercury in the fish they've been eating, florescent lights, and pollution. That's why most humans are now insane and stupid and care more about TikTok than they do about how much of toxic waste dump they've made the Earth, and refuse to follow simple instructions to wear masks or get vaccinated. Which is ironic, since they think the vaccines are full of mercury when the tuna sandwich they had for lunch probably contained a lot more.

I think some of them are fun to entertain, but I have a pretty high bar before I'll start to seriously believe one.

As humans, when the truth isn't revealed and that deception is being detected, rumors start. In fact, the way all these horror stories on the news, while what we hear and what we see are 2 separate truths. Politicians are experts at switching up digits/numbers to make things right for themselves. No wonder accidental deaths and such are often labelled as "virus" deaths, because when they test these people, no matter what the "actual cause of death" is, if Covid traces are to be found, then it gets labelled as a Covid death.
Anyway...

There have been conspiracies about 9/11, Elvis still being alive, Paul McCartney dead in a car accident etc. etc.

The fact is that there are things that we'll never know the truth about. Some things are not meant to be shared among the general population.

the FBI is crazy and has been gaslighting us for decades.

https://www.huffingtonpost.co.uk/entry/ ... ri18n=true

I see their hand in the hunter biden 'leak'. could be others with a similar sense of humor, but the fbi cant be counted out of this. What i have in mind is pics of people who look like bidens but its inconclusive or shown as fake [a camgirl who looks like the neice] by tineye. these are posted as if they are part of the 'leak', but they are old pics.

then a lynch mob forms complaining hes not in jail for pedo incest and crack/hos/

another one is they say not to download it for evidence cuz theres child porn on it.

I dont bother with the 'leak', just read the reddit threads that sound fun

as far as gaslighting goes, this is pretty funny imo, the fbi aint all bad? tfbiaab..

and if its true the original leaker said its not really a leak, thats kind of cool

Doubt he'd be doing any concerts if he hypothetically was alive, he was born 5 years before my parents and they each turn 82 this year, meaning Elvis would be 87.

(Which brings to mind image of Elvis trying to do a concert while having Alzheimer's like my Dad does and his father did,

The negative attitude towards what are pejoratively called conspiracy theories, is itself a conspiracy.

the law of attraction, the law of communicating vessels, etc gravity even, mass attracting mass, how conspiring

This clip from the show Adam Ruins Everything explains why some people believe in conspiracy theories

That said, the term conspiracy theory is very relative. Some things that sound like classic conspiracy theories have a lot of factual basis. I'm not gonna give specific examples cuz this thread would turn into a sh!t storm political debate that I do not want to be responsible for starting. I'll just add, Is there a difference between a conspiracy & a conspiracy theory :?: Drug lords working together like the mafia are conspiracies, & politicians working with lots of people to cheat in elections are conspiracies, & government leaders having foreign enemies assassinated are conspiracies that really do happen sometimes. What's the difference between those examples & a conspiracy theory except that a conspiracy theory is a conspiracy that has not yet been proven.

conspiracy theory

noun

1. A theory seeking to explain a disputed case or matter as a plot by a secret group or alliance rather than an individual or isolated act.

2. A hypothesis alleging that the members of a coordinated group are, and/or were, secretly working together to commit illegal or wrongful actions including attempting to hide the existence of the group and its activities. In notable cases the hypothesis contradicts the mainstream explanation for historical or current events.

3. Hypothetical speculation that is untrue or outlandish.
