There he goes again. Making fun of great oldies.

What can I say? That was the slang in the Sixties for something awesome. "It's a gas".

It crops up in that Stones' hit.

And its in the title of the instrumental hit by Mason Williams that combines the old with the then new: "Classical Gas".

The title of this thread made me think of Silly Putty. :)

I do remember it being once called a "solid liquid" when I was a kid, since when you leave it alone it melts into a puddle, but you can stretch it or crack it in half like a biscuit.
