Flowers in the garden are amazing.

That's exciting, especially the family member.

What flowers are out in October? I'm trying to think. We just have a buddleia flowering.

Zinnia, marigold, asters, impatiens, petunias, morning glory, touch - me - nots, roses, various wildflowers, lantanna, celosia, cannas and the mums are just starting.I’m surprised they all bounced back from the first drought. Now we are in drought number two and I have to water again.
I haven’t seen them in three years, because of Covid there was no visitation and I really couldn’t afford the drive anyway.
We will be having a big family reunion in a few weeks and have rented an adorable rock cottage for the event.

My thread can be more than one thing and that other thread is massive, it's like shouting in a crowd. I'd like to have a conversation with people. :P

Conversation?! *Runs for her life!*

Why are you running? I just thought randomly posting a comment on a thread was a bit dull and I'd like some actual interaction :P :)

I'm running away because of my own inadequacy..... I'm not very good at conversations.

The 'dull' threads suit me most of the time. :)

Sound lovely! It's always funny when Americans talk about 'mums' because that means 'mothers' in Britain

A family reunion!

You can practice conversing here :flower: I am just as bad, I'm hopeless at conversations so I want to practice :)

I got rid of my TV a LONG time ago and don't have much of a social media presence. Since then it seems like most news that filters in to me now is good news. I still keep half-an eye on local news, but not daily.

At first I was afraid I'd miss something, but after a while I've found that there isn't much that is going on that has any real impact on my daily life. The bulk of the bad news isn't anything I have control over, so I don't worry about it.

It just seems to make people angry and bitter and worn out... I'd recommend people taking a break from the 24 hour news cycle for a week and just see for themselves what its actually like. :-)

Nah, I don't always want conversation and prefer it that way. I used to force myself to engage with people and found it draining.

I'm content with posting when I have something to say, and posting on the one word threads and off the wall when I don't want much interaction.

I'll be sure to pop in this thread when the urge for conversation takes over!
