There is a continuing word association thread here. I am proposing a variation on it.

Background.
I have only recently become aware of Asperger’s. On finding this site one of the first articles I read was “How do I keep small talk going?” in the Articles section.
http://www.wrongplanet.net/article318.html
It was a revelation to me. All I have ever been able to do is discuss something so my attempts at conversation have collapsed as I would pick up on something and try and discuss it. I had no idea about the conventions of conversation at all until I read that article – I am 63 years old.

So a conversation goes like this (from that article):
Alan: (originating)
I played the course at Pebble Beach the other day.

Beatrice: (receiving)
What a nice day to do it.

Beatrice: (originating)
I went to the beach there a couple of years ago and thought it was gorgeous.

Alan: (receiving)
It’s funny: I’ve been there several times, but I’ve never left the golf course!

And the conversation will continue in this vein until the two part and begin anew with other people.

My proposal
Can we keep a conversation thread going?

Rules.
1. Your post must ‘receive’ from the previous post.
2. Your post must ‘originate’ a new conversational line.
3. Your ‘reception’ and ‘origination’ responses are each limited to, at most, two sentences (thus four sentences is maximum length of any post).
4. There must be some association between your ‘receive’ and the previous ‘originate’
5. Similarly; there must be some association between your ‘receive’ and your ‘originate’
6. Discussion replies are not permitted. Your ‘receive’ part may not pick up on the previous ‘origination’ and try to amplify or in any way discuss that point. Your ‘receive’ should be an almost complete non-sequester. We are talking chit-chat here, not having a logical or structured discussion. If the next poster considers your post to have been a discussion type response they may put ‘Boring’ as the header to their post. (As an observation: boring here is used in the inverse sense to how the typical Aspie would use it.)
7. Rhyming is considered to be associative; as in the word association game.
8. If the association is not immediately obvious so much the better. However the next poster is entitled to put ‘Huh?’ as the header if they don’t see the association. In that case the author of the previous post may edit the original post and explain, in a footnote, what the association is. Preface this with Huh? elucidated
9. Special kudos if your reply is witty. Next poster can write ‘Kudos’ as header if they find the previous post worthy.
10. Simultaneous posts are no problem. In that case there will be two or more responses to a previous post so there will be consecutive posts that do not follow on according to the rules. This is just ‘cross talk’ and is permitted. Next respondent must simply carry on from the last posting at that stage.

I will initiate the process.

What kind of dogs do you like the best?
I like most kinds of dogs, except for savage dogs.
