Lets just say that if you recorded your song today, and it became a hit...Paul Young would sue you for plagarism. And as with Beatle George Harrison who got sued by the Chiffons for stealing "He's So Fine" and turning it into "My Sweet Lord" the court would allow that your theft was "unconscious" (not intentional...the Eighties Paul Young song was just buried in your subconscious).
