Can guns be uninvented?

By destroying all the guns that exist in the world.

I think you'd have to destroy all the guns to the point they can't be reverse engineered, then destroy all references to guns in our culture, then damage the brains of everyone who currently knows what a gun is and especially those who know how to make one.

That, I think would uninvent them. Until someone re-invents them.

No, but also think of how much less egalitarian societies were before guns. Uninventing guns wouldn't be a good thing to do.

Yep, it's sort of like nuclear weapons, once the precedent has been set that something can be done, the time it takes to actually do decreases a lot. We could wink out of existence every gun in existence and we would have more within a few years, tops.

No, but there are countries that have less incidence of gun violence because of strict gun control.

I wonder how many murricans would feel if they knew their totally American weapon was originally invented in China. Which makes sense since they also invented gunpowder.

The laws of nature that enabled the invention of fire arms, and the invention of nuclear fission and fusion, cant be "cancelled" by the human race, and made to go away.

It would be a lot better for the planet if the hew-mon species were uninvented
