Why do people wear jeans?

Why do people wear jeans? I find them so uncomfortable, I fail to see why anybody would want to wear them.

I actually wear jeans because of a sensory issue. I hate the feeling of my legs touching. I like jeans because they're comfortable, breathable and durable. I don't like it when they're new and stiff, but over time, they get really soft. I love soft cotton.

Most other (women's) pants are uncomfortable to me. Corduroys are nice, but I get annoyed by the noise they make when I walk. I like my clothing to keep quiet.

DX'ed with HFA as a child. However this was in 1987 and I am certain had I been DX'ed a few years later I would have been DX'ed with AS instead.

but why not wear tracksuits? These are so much more comfortable, jeans are too stiff and the texture is horrible.

Tracksuits don't breathe as well because they're made of synthetic materials.

I wear black tracksuits usually. Jeans: rarely or never. First of all I am loyal to my gothic style and it is not easy to find black jeans, second of all I don't like the feeling. Jeans are like constantly pressing against the genitals which is very uncomfortable.

I wear jeans, because I like to live up to my definition of the word, "cool". I don't wish to be like the mainstream, wearing what everybody else is wearing. I just see jeans as an essential part of the Punk wardrobe.

I wear jeans because they are good for working in.
They stay a lot cooler then most of my other clothes and I dont wear through to form holes in them as easily for some reason.
They are comfortable too, but that may be because I am used to them

I wear jeans because they are comfortable, durable and most of all - functional. As a VERY ADHD Aspie who is TERRIBLE about keeping track of stuff, I can't really carry a purse or a bag - I lose them daily. I have found that if it is strapped to my butt (in pockets or on belt), I keep MUCH better track of all my essentials - flashlight, leatherman, keys, wallet, money, etc., etc.

Yes, everyone takes me for a lez because I carry a wallet and no purse, but too @#$%$#% bad. It works for me. Get over it. :roll:

One of the reasons I like jeans is down to wanting to see ladies in them. I don't wear them myself though.
