I never thought this would happen,
but this is an appreciation thread
concerning the attractions in your city.

Here are five attractions in Portland{there are more}
you will love:

1.} Waterfront Park
This riverfront park, bordering Naito Parkway, is a popular recreation hub.
It borders the Steel Bridge to the north and the Riverplace Marina to the south.

This museum features American, Asian,
European, and Native American art.

an OMNIMAX theater, and the USS Blueback submarine.

4.} Oregon Zoo/World Forestry Center
The zoo is home to animals from around the world,
including Asian elephants, Peruvian penguins, and
Arctic polar bears. It also hosts a summer concert series.
The museum interprets forests of the world.
On the grounds of the museum, there is a 80-acre recreation site.

5.} The Japanese Garden

the mood of ancient Japan.

Want to fly to Portland?
Best bet is to take an affordable airline, such as Alaska or Southwest,
from your city. If not, take a train or bus.

I was there for Thanksgiving 2007, and went to the Tower of the Americas. It was a nice view, although the Chart House was a bit overpriced.

For Norwich:

The Norman cathedral. It has the second tallest spire in England!

The Catholic cathedral. It's a Gothic Revival structure c. 1900 and has a variety of very funny gargoyles.

The Plantation Garden. Reconstructed Victorian, with a fountain and various follies.

Mousehold Heath. A forest with footpaths.

The Rosary Cemetery. Beautiful late Victorian headstones in an overgrown graveyard.

The Norwich Cemetery. More of the same.

Norwich Castle. A very impressive, oversized Norman brick.

The Market. In continuous use since the time of the Norman invasion.
