I have recorded an MP3 of me saying, "Hello, WrongPlanet! This is Néant Humain," and uploaded it for your listening pleasure! Those of you who don't know French may be surprised by the way I pronounce my username!

NeantHumain.mp3 (58 kilobytes)

A good program to use to record yourself is Audacity. It is a free and open-source program for Windows. Download the LAME MP3 encoder with it to enable Audacity to export recordings to MP3 format.

cool voice, neanthumain :) however, don't expect me to be able to grasp the technology required to put a version of me on here :( my voice is quite deep, husky, and posh. so now you know.

Cool sounding name, wish I hadn't looked up what it meant, though. :) Je parle français aussi, mais je ne sais pas beaucoup.

Even though I'm newish, I feel like contributing if I could find where my microphone is. Someone told me when I was younger that I sounded like Leonardo DiCaprio...I want to slap that person. :) I'm hoping that it's no longer true.

I have a low sounding voice for a girl, but maybe it's because of recording equipment that makes my voice sound lower. At least my voice isn't very high pitched (personally, I'd hate it if I had a high pitched voice). It's also good because I have a little more open tone for the tenor lines on my trombone.

Here is me: http://students.risd.edu/yr2005/mmartins/web/random/civet2.wav

I have posted my voice on here before. I'm not sure if it was that particular file or not, though.

Blackliger, your accent amused me quite a bit. I liked it :) .

NeantHumain, it's good to know how to pronounce your name, finally. I had expected you to have a higher voice, for some reason, but yours is nice.

Whichever one I want to use. My keyboard actually has a couple more than that, but those ones are on there too.

I know it's supposed to be funny, too bad I didn't laugh. Is there any site you can go to to host a file?

Any soundfile I hosted would sound exactly like that one only with different words. I really don't talk. I really use synthesized speech. I just hunted around until I found a good example of the voices on the synthesizer I used. I don't see much point in uploading a new soundfile using the exact same voice that can be found on lots of other websites including the one I picked. I wasn't joking, I really do sound like that.

I'd love to hear your voice if the thing would let me download the clip. It won't. I think it's maxed out.

You have a cute voice. ((Bizarre thing to say but that's the best way to describe my reaction.))

Even if you didn't mean that to be funny, it honestly is; I was laughing out loud.

-----

I want to hear more voices because I think there is an Aspie voice type, not just in inflection (or lack thereof) but I dunno, some other quality. I think my voice adds to this theory. I've heard other voice clips and voices of people with AS and they all sound a bit alike somehow. Here's my question: Do any of you guys find you have less extreme accents than those around you?

Anyway, on the subject of accents, here's a clip I recorded awhile ago of my own voice. I used my digital camera as I didn't have a microphone at the time, but you don't see anything, I had the lens covered or on a pillow or something. I really do NOT have a feminine voice.
