I've got a short sound clip and I'll get around to uploading it somewhere soon.

http://rapidshare.de/files/5733299/mumbling2.wav.html I rant-mumbled. I wish I could've gone on longer, but I guess 60 seconds is alright. Or is it?

If I don't go to that party tommorow, I'll probably record myself doing stand-up comedy. That's assuming I'm really in the mood for it though.

Both were gone when I unearthed this thread from ages past.

I could post my stand-up comedy, recorded, but I think that posting the scripts are quite enough, plus I give out identifying information in routines which would reveal my true, non-serissa name.

I couldn't peg your accent. I wouldn't even say New England. I'd say near accentless. I confuse people with mine too. They can only tie me down to the mid-Atlantic region.

I have recorded an MP3 of me saying, "Hello, WrongPlanet! This is Néant Humain," and uploaded it for your listening pleasure! Those of you who don't know French may be surprised by the way I pronounce my username!

NeantHumain.mp3 (58 kilobytes)

A good program to use to record yourself is Audacity. It is a free and open-source program for Windows. Download the LAME MP3 encoder with it to enable Audacity to export recordings to MP3 format.

So THAT'S how you pronounce your name!! ! Nice voice BTW.

Me rambling at 4am :P

I'd love to hear your voice if the thing would let me download the clip. It won't. I think it's maxed out.

I have posted my voice on here before. I'm not sure if it was that particular file or not, though.

Blackliger, your accent amused me quite a bit. I liked it :) .

NeantHumain, it's good to know how to pronounce your name, finally. I had expected you to have a higher voice, for some reason, but yours is nice.

You have a cute voice. ((Bizarre thing to say but that's the best way to describe my reaction.))

Even if you didn't mean that to be funny, it honestly is; I was laughing out loud.

I want to hear more voices because I think there is an Aspie voice type, not just in inflection (or lack thereof) but I dunno, some other quality. I think my voice adds to this theory. I've heard other voice clips and voices of people with AS and they all sound a bit alike somehow. Here's my question: Do any of you guys find you have less extreme accents than those around you?

Anyway, on the subject of accents, here's a clip I recorded awhile ago of my own voice. I used my digital camera as I didn't have a microphone at the time, but you don't see anything, I had the lens covered or on a pillow or something. I really do NOT have a feminine voice.

I actually had an easier time listening to that then I do a lot of people. I cannot record myself but thats a lot like what I sound like except my voice is higher.

To hear what I mean by a monotonous voice, listen to my recording of the post "Aspies: Beyond Good and Evil?" That's how I tend to talk a lot of the time.

Aspies: Beyond Good and Evil? (1.08 megabytes)

That's a very boring voice. I almost fell asleep listening to it. Not really, because I just woke up, but it must be hard to get an audience's attention.

A lot of people confuse an English accent with having good diction: I have sometimes been asked about my 'English accent', as has another Aspie I know who is from Australia. With me, I do use weird voices sometimes, but this is mainly when I'm just speaking with good diction; Pride and Prejudice does that for you! ;)

Diction varies greatly by reagion. For example, here is an example of normal diction for about half of the US.

I share an IP with thousands of other people (it's a proxy) so I always get the message 'Your IP-address (...) is already downloading a file' when trying to download anything from rapidshare.de.

I asked a girl what my accent was and she said "No accent, well a bit of Canadian and that's it" So thats why people always ask me where I'm from.

I believe I have the voice for radio

I've had my voice on the radio before, that's how I know (it was a recording done in the street for a trial broadcast's "hit squad" section, I don't have access to the recording :(

I will however record something myself for your listening pleasure :D
