This is really random, but I heard about this thing and I am just curious to know if there is any truth to it. I cant tell you why just yet, because that may effect what you say.

OK, now I want you to look at your Index and pointer fingers, and just select an option from the above (or below, i dont know where it goes). If for some strange reason none of the options apply to you, just write something.

I am looking for even small differences. perhaps if its borderline something or other you can post saying so.

Thanks for participating
:D

Edit: OHh damn do i feel sooo incredibly stupid now!

I meant to write the ring finger

so im assuming everyone thought i meant ring finger by index, if not ill just write up why soon anyway

       :pale: :|

A tad confused. Are index and pointer the same? I mean that I have a trigger finger and a flip the bird finger, but trigger and index and pointer are the same right? I mean that I wouldn't point with my bird finger?

And do you mean apparent length or actual length from base knuckle?

I'm assuming you mean index finger and middle finger...right?

I have read about this before. It is actually the trigger finger and the ring finger that are to be compared, and the measurement is to be taken from the base knuckle.

I am not sure there is anything to this, however.

Yeah, index/pointer and ring fingers.

Supposedly, autistics have longer ring fingers than index fingers.

Also, according to a completely different and unrelated study, "Alpha" male types supposedly have much longer index fingers than ring fingers.

And in both studies the suspected cause of these polar opposite findings was "high testosterone levels in the womb."

Excuse me if I think these people are talking out their ***es.

Longer ring fingers are correlated to more testosterone.

There was a thread about this in General Autism Discussion a while back... I think mine are the same length but my index looks longer because it starts further up... if my fingers were cut off and put in a straight line they'd be the same length. :)

I think pointer refers to the ring ringer.

On both hands my fingers that are beside my thumb are shorter that the fingers traditionally termed ring fingers. The difference is very slight but it is there nonetheless.

This is a very interesting topic.

Yea, I remember taking a gender identity test when this question came up. I think my ring and index fingers are about the same length.
