I had to use some for a huge Frank Sinatra once, but the wind caught it.

You're not growing any Eamonn Holmes are you? Cos that'll make it a bit of a squeeze, even with Nolan prunage.
Although Davids do tend to be quite space friendly, but they do like plenty of light and moisture.
Nah - I was, but all my Eamons got collar rot in early spring and fell over: I don't think the drainage was quite right.
I think the Cliff Michelmore is too well-established to move it now, but I could probably set up some staging for a row of Davids though, once the Nolans have died back a little. I may have to move the Fiona Bruce into a corner but she's pretty hardy.

Ah, yes, Eamonn drainage can be tricky. Still I think that might have been a blessing in disguise. They're quite greedy feeders, for very little fruit.
Groovy, I shall look forward to my Davids. I'm going to try a brace of John Sergeants on the patio. I'll let you have some seeds if I have any spare.

Watch out for cracks.

Yes - those Eamons were massive when I bought them in so I would have been in trouble if they grew well.
I still have a double row of Julian Pettifers by the patio, although the Fyfe Robertsons are really past their best now. Still good fruiters though; I sell off pots of Fyfe jam every Autumn.

Well if I can't do it stood up, I'll have to think of a more appropriate position.

Ooh Julian Pettifers are hard to grow, well done for that. Have you taken any to the village show? I got best in show for my Charlie Dimmocks last year. The Terry Wogans didn't do so well, but I don't like to talk about that.
Maybe you can let me have some Fyfe jam, and I'll send you some Huw Edwards perry.

Well in any case I think the most important thing is that when the duke comes round you're clean and sober.
