I've just chose 2024 over 1964. I've chose to celebrate me and my lifetime. I've chose Germany over The Kinks.

Hurray for the present, Viva Germany and I'm perfect just the way I am! I don't need to change and I don't need a groove. I have a song instead and that's all I really need.

I hope Italy wins the Volleyball game.

They won!

I hope France wins the basketball game.

If France wins, I'm going to fall to the ground and lose control my myself, because I'll be so excited.

People really skip around boats singing, "Come Join The Navy."

I asked my friend if he'd been diagnosed with autism. He said "No. I wouldn't be at all surprised, but I'm doing just fine as it is, so I'm just me. I just exist."
I could've diagnosed him the day we met.

My mind was drifting back to my college days. The job readiness programme I was in. The great classmates of mine. The shenanigans that happened during lunch and coffee breaks. The ups and the downs. How hyper and unphased I was back than. That big German guy I looked up to and how sensitive he was. I was a lot like Peter Newkirk back in those days.

I wonder if I should write a book about my college years.

I've got to phone the clubhouse today to see if I can go on that picnic. I want to be there in all of my glory. The volunteer student told me the staff wouldn't be able to take me because I would be too crippled to be able to get into the vans. That's not very nice. How 1924 of him to say that.

That's right. Focus on the present. It's 2024, you're on WP. It is no longer 1993. You're the big, sensitive German now. Accept it. Don't escape to 1964. Live in the present and be yourself. Don't live in the past as a Mod or a hippie. You can't bring the past back. Besides, do you want to go back to living a dishonest life in order to win popularity, because that's what you did in your 20s and 30s. Make peace with yourself and your not so Anglo Canadian ways. God wants you to be like this.

It's one of the nasty features of the human mind, unfortunately.

It can be whatever people calls it; trapped emotions, unprocessed grief, trauma triggers, hidden anxieties, hung ups, attached to events...

Replayed internally or re-enacted in relationships.


Because the mind craves the familiar even if it's fricking detrimental to you and you consciously do not want it.

My Lesson of The Month is that maybe members that I'm missing might not have been the nicest to me when I was down. I don't know who I miss now. Perhaps the one who started the greetings thread.
