I'm in debt big time, although I have a lot of assets too. It would help if I hadn't paid about half a million dollars in legal fees with interest, and if my ex wasn't a litigious deadbeat narcissist who's dragged me or my daughter through court about 12 times in the last 25 years. The expense of single parenting is no cake-walk either.

I have lots of investments and stocks but no clue how it works. I pay a financial advisor who does all that for me.

Yes, I've spent a lot of time over the years studying this, but have still lost large sums at times (£5000 in the first hour of trading when Lehman Bros collapsed in 2008). I've stuck at it however, and have made some decent gains over the past decade. Need to persevere though, and hope my luck holds, as otherwise I've just my £900 per month half-pension to rely on, which looks about to be decimated by inflation...

Are you concerned about inflation?

I don't follow economics enough to know when inflation's happening or not, to be honest. I know prices are going crazy and have been for about twenty years. It just keeps getting worse. I used to count prices by ones, then by twenties, then by hundreds, and now it's by thousands. Thousands are the new ones.

Well, inflation in Western Europe and the USA has risen to around 5%-7% in recent months, which is a significant rise fron the 0%-3% official rates we've seen over the past 20 years. Could well get to 10% next year, and after that, who knows...?

Actually, this is a huge issue - not just the official figure, but the methods by which it's calculated, which is absolutely scandalous, though the general public have little knowledge of or interest in such matters. I despair.... :(

Do you ever think you spend too much time on the internet?

I'm certainly not looking forward to inflation getting worse.

I also spend wayyyy too much time online, though I don't have a lot else to do.

Same question.

I don't think so, to be honest. I know I'm on here quite a bit sometimes but it's my only social communication, and it's good for my brain (stroke recovery) especially when I'm dealing with mutism. I like the music and the conversations, and learning about neurodiversity. Even when I'm on here, chances are I'm doing ten other things at the same time like cooking or cleaning or spending time with my daughter who also reads most posts. I just keep my laptop open on the table and walk past and chime in. I also use the internet for other things of course, like banking or research or writing.

I'm aware that I spend what many people would regard as an unhealthy amount of time online (maybe at least 5 hours per day), but I don't regret it - God knows what situation I'd be in today if there were no internet!

Will you still be on WP tomorrow? Goodnight!

It's 05:50 am here, LOL.

I'll be around Monday but not Tuesday until Boxing Day.

Sleep well!

I like pretty much all animals. I wouldn't say hamsters were anywhere near my list of favourites though. We had them as pets when we were kids but I remember finding the nocturnal aspect frustrating - when was I supposed to see them? I'm not a massive fan of caged pets so I wouldn't have one now.

I don't know. As I've mentioned previously, I'm not a huge fan of indoor rodents. They seem cute enough, but I wouldn't own one as a pet. ^As DHb mentioned, I'm not a fan of caged animals either.

Do you like wearing gloves in winter?

Depends on the material. Can't stand hats, though.

Yes, because then I don't have to bother with my hair.

Is there anything you like to collect?

Not really. I used to buy films and CDs, now it's all digital. I still buy vinyl if it's an album I really like. I have lots of books. But I wouldn't call myself a collector of these things. I kind of don't like owning things these days, I just feel them as dead weight. When I look around my home, very few of the things here are mine.

Same q.

I didn't see this one. I get weird looks from people because I won't wear gloves or socks even when there's a lot of snow. I was shovelling yesterday with bare hands and bare ankles with no coat. People must think I'm a freak. I can't stand gloves. I'd sooner light my hands on fire than wear gloves of any sort. Same with socks I guess too, obviously.

Do you have meltdowns in public places?

I have to go deal with the world again today, against my will.

Wish me no meltdowns. :(
