I went to Cub Scouts for about 2 years; never got past the first badge.

I went to Boy Scouts for about a year; never even GOT the first badge.

In retrospect, Scouting would have been good for me, had I been in the right sort of pack or troop. There's just lots that is good about it. It encourages kids to be responsible, and it teaches them valuable survival and first aid skills.

Were you in Scouting?

I was in a Russian communist club.

Just kidding but I call it that.
It was a group similar to Brownies or Guides, but Bible-based.
The organisation was started in Russia.

I liked it a lot actually.
I had a light blue dress with a red sash, and knee socks.

I remember getting my Environment badge awarded by telephone.
I was sick in bed with pneumonia but it got approved.

My cousins' kids are all Eagle Scouts.
One of them is getting married so now I have another big trip on my agenda.

It's the year of weddings, it seems.

Do you still have any of your wedding gifts?

I have silver salt and pepper shakers, and some crystal dessert bowls which match a crystal vegetable platter.

Platters were all the rage when I got married.

I think I got about ten of them.

Too bad I seldom platt. (?)

Unwanted gifts:
I usually try to rehome them. Last week I took some stuff to the op shop for donation.
I don't regift.

That sounds beautiful. ^

Mine is the morning after my wedding.
I was sat on the floor with my husband opening gifts, wearing my going-away dress.

I wish I could crop him out the picture but we overlap.

Did you ever have steel rollerskates? The adjustable ones?

I had an old pair of roller skates, and also had a not-brand-new key.

Do you think Melanie is a nice name?

I really liked Melanie Wilkes in Gone With the Wind.

One time I knit a baby blanket for someone I barely knew (friend of a friend).
They didn't even know the gender.
I got a strong feeling the blanket would be used by a baby named Melanie.
They ended up having a girl called Melanie.

I have issues with the name now because it reminds me of Melissa.
Some woman from BC. :(

Where did you go on your first date with your partner?

We walked our dogs in the meadowlands where I grew up.
New Year's Eve, in the daytime.
We stopped at a little pub for a bowl of soup to warm up.

Believe it's real? 0

Notice some patterns that seem true? 3
I'm drawn to Gemini women, and autumn men (Virgo, Libra, Sag).
I have issues with Aries and Scorpios.
