Hello. I'm writing a proposal for a sitcom, and am doing random focus-group testing to see if the idea has potential.

The premise is that the entire series takes place in a medieval-styled tavern that looks a bit too similar to a Seattle microbrewery, and for some reason every group of adventurers, cutthroats, pirates, musketeers, mysterious strangers, dark sorcerers, etc. choose this place as their hangout. The series is about the bartender and his trying to cope with it all.

Supporting characters include the retired knight whom every adventurer wishes to recruit even though he'd rather have another beer instead, the cute barmaid that everyone hits on, and the suave debonair constable whose main goal is to serve as an antagonistic nuisance to the bartender.

Does the idea have promise?

I can imagine this, and I like the idea. It would have to be written and acted with the proper off-beat lighthearted psychological approach. What if it were animated, because it seems it would fit right in that niche, while live action would be more difficult?

Sorry sounds to much like Cheers and Black Adder, there hasn't been a good sitcom since Seinfeld, network Tv is a barren wasteland of reality television

Sorry MagicMike, I don't like it. On the other hand the series The wild wild west was a real turd and it was on the air for a while. Go for it.

I'd watch it. It's always good to find a sitcom that does things differently and avoids the blandness of most of TV.

I don't watch TV unless it's PBS.
