i usually have nightmares... Horrible ones. I scream in my sleep, and i trash around muttering "go away" and "why do you haunt me"

the ive been having nightmares everyday since i can remember. horrible ones.

But ive had the worst nightmare so far.

i fell asleep, and i started to have a night terror.
i had a dream. That these porcinen dolls were crawling on my bed, they had blood on thier faces, and they had twisted, demonic smiles.

they came closer and closer, and then i woke up... (i didnt wake up, i was still dreaming but i didnt realize it. So i closed my eyes thinking it was a dream when i found the doll, face to face with me. it started mauling me with its teeth.

Then i really woke up, and a screamed for about 4 minutes without pause. i had lost control of all my emotions, and i fell to the ground in some sort of fit.

my mom thought i was being murdered, she ran into my room, and hugged me,

i was crying so bad. I couldnt go to school and i wouldnt go to sleep because i was scared the doll would come for me again.
Is there something wrong with me? how do i stop the nightmares?

I've been having quite a few nightmares lately as well. The worst ones for me are always the ones where what happens in the dream really could happen in real life. The best way, I think, is to try just not thinking about them (although I know that's really hard!). Try watching a happy and peaceful TV show or movie before going to sleep as well. That way, you can think about that instead. Good luck! 8)

When I was a youngster I used to have horrible nightmares. I was frequently chased by hideous monsters but I could never run away fast enough - like walking through water at the swimming pool, my legs were like lead weights. These nightmares went on for several years, then one night - I still remember the nightmare, I dreamed I was walking through the Woolworth's store when a monster appeared and started coming towards me. Something snapped inside me this time though. It was a sense of rage and indignation and I just wasn't going to take this crap any more!! ! I didn't care if the monster killed me - I was going to go after it first! I remember making a fist and smashing it through a counter like my fist was made of iron. I then ran at the monster and punched it in the chest so hard it's chest burst and my fist went right in. The monster crumpled to the floor and died. Since then I seldom have any bad dreams, but if I do I tend to turn and fight and not care if I die in the process. Get them before they get you. Worked for me. :D

My most recent nightmare wasn't too scary. Unless you're me.

The person who tore my life apart and the person I care about most kept coming up in random intervals while the first verse and chorus of "Ice Queen" by Within Temptation played over and over in my head.

I woke up and got some grape juice. Grape juice is happy.

therapy:

go get yourself a porcelain doll at a goth shop or something - try to make it as close to what you're experiencing in your dream. Lay in on the ground and stomp the ever living sh*t out of it.

You could also try lucid dreaming where you take control of your dream. I had one once. It was awesome. You're asleep and dreaming but fully aware you're dreaming and you can take the reigns and control what happens.

When you're in the dream, look for something to confirm you're in the dream. You'll be dreaming so you won't know it right away. Something won't be quite right. There's always something in dreams that defies the laws of physics and time.

Once you perfect your technique, you can obliterate the dolls.

WOw, where can I find a doll like that? My niece would luv it.

You do realize you're replying to a kid right?

As for the OP, yes I've had dreams like that only they were men trying shoot me. I was awake still thinking it was a dream. I crawled slowly off the couch and onto the floor telling my sister to get down. She asked me why and then at that moment I realized it was a dream.

I have terrible dreams still !and sometimes I do still lose sleep over them .I am not to sure what to say about your dreams but talking about them help. and keep talking about your dreams ,try writing them down when you wake up at night ,also that lucid dreaming I can help.

I think the most important part is to talk about them and talk about your fears about the dreams.

I'm not very good with the whole lucid dreaming thing, but somehow, a few years ago I started doing it with nightmares...the nightmare would be playing out like usual, I would have no control over it...and then it would get to a really bad part, and I would say out loud "I'm waking up." and I would wake up o_O

One time I did that, some guy was stabbing me in the shoulder, and I said "This is a dream, I'm waking up now." and he said "No you're not." and stabbed me harder 8O

Gave it a second try and it worked...man, was that scary.
