I don't understand, what is this??? I'm not going to download something onto my computer, (it looks like a program, to me.) without knowing what it is.

Wise choice. Just because a program doesn't contain a virus doesn't mean it is necessarily harmless.

its not a proggram its a game wich explains enough of me (with gm so virus free)

I just double checked and it is a download for an EXE. An exe is a program. It may be a game or maybe not. It may superficially be a game and do something else in the background - unless you know the source of the software and trust it, then it can do pretty much whatever it likes on your computer. I could write you a virus free program in a few minutes that pretends to do one thing and goes messing elsewhere with your computer and files.

To AlienUndercover - is it a game that you wrote then? Not just some program you found on the internet? It isn't clear from your post.

Don't take this personally UndercoverAlien, this isn't an attack on you. I'm just very cautious, knowing how easy people can pick up malware, especially from an unknown source on Meggaupload.

As as professional software developer I'm clearly aware of the dodgy things on the internet. An easy thing to do is take someone's harmless game and put an installation wrapper around it with a piece of malware. Someone downloading it would get the harmless game and think nothing bad had happened but in reality they have also installed some nasty software that can basically do anything... maybe send copies of your emails and personal documents to third parties or a directory listing of all your files in case there is something worth more attention. Maybe also install a back door past your file wall and a key logging too. Turn the pc into a bot. Maybe use a webcam to spy on you. Depending on how mass produced the piece of malware is, it likely won't even be picked up by anti-virus software.

At least if you download software directly from a developers site you stand more chance of it not containing malware or being tampered with. But to download anonymous software from somewhere like Meggaupload is asking for trouble.

so you cant get any impossible to get virus
