It would drip off and not form an even layer. I've done alot of moldmaking professionally. Latex is the closest thing, but it stinks like ammonia, and you can only apply one layer every 5 minutes. It takes about 10-15 layers to get the thickness of most neoprene.

:) Cool, I'm a professional mold-maker too. What industry do you work in?

Hey, that's neat. I work in the shoe industry. I always wanted to make a full-body latex monster outfit.

Then you're probably pretty familiar with industrial cements, like Barge, which is what we used to glue that whole suit together. I actually had to go to a kidney specialist after that one from over-exposure to barge (from the toluene it contains). Nowadays I definitely use a respirator when I use that stuff, especially when crawling inside a costume to glue something.

With your knowledge of molds, a full-body latex monster suit would be a great side-project.

I've work on suits that I was too claustrophobic to even attempt to put on.

Well, I could make a really tight one and then you could hire a bunch of people to stand around you with blow-dryers and follow you everywhere you go. They would just need reeeaally long extension cords... :P

3. Neoprene gloves
4. Neoprene booties
5. Neoprene face mask
6. Repeat from #1 ad infinitum
