I had beef ribs today for the first time.

Is it normal for there to be a lot of fat on the bone. It seemed like 90% of what was on the bone was fat.

I never had any, nor a hamburger. I never liked bacon because it seemed too fatty.

I've had some with a lot of fat, some without. It's isn't uncommon in my experience, but I'm not a big fan of the gristle.

Really? Whenever I eat any sort of meat with bones it it the gristle/cartilage/marrow are my favorite parts...it might just be a texture thing though...I've always love chewy foods.

When I was young I ate beef ribs a lot... then everybody else found out how good they are, so now I can't afford them any more. :(

I never could get into ribs. I don't eat red meat anymore anyway.

I love ribs @_@ my dad makes the best ribs, I find that homemade ribs even with the fat on it taste better than any sit down restaraunt ribs anyway. For the person that can't afford ribs, we found a store that sells meat around here that's a very unlikely to sell meat :P it's a little corner store, but it's the most reasonably priced and best meat we've ever had. Look around, we also find (my dad and i, since i still live here) that a beef roast lasts for 4 meals per person, so, an eight dollar roast can get through eight meals or more, so that's a really good value, if you get ribs that are reduced to sell, buy them and cook them when you get home, and freeze the rest! that way you can have them for later and it's still a good value :). and for the person that likes grisle and etc... have you ever had a t-bone with the soft fat? it's sooooo good, or, sidepork, thats the best ever.

(I wish i liked more vegetables :P I guess i'm a carnivore  )

i tend to favor both beef and pork ribs, although beef is a lot stringier and chewier.

There is a lot of variety in the amount of fat between each animal. But, generally, corn-fed finished beef (like you get in stores) has more fat than cattle that have only had grass.
