I'm a veggie but I'm not very "strict" about it (I do eat dairy products and sometimes eat fish), how strict a vegetarian do you want to be? I can give you general advice on stuff to try but I'm not really "up" on the dietary side of things.

About the protein thing: all foods contain varying amounts of protein, so if you just eat a variety of foods you'll be fine. You don't have to watch what you eat that closely.

sure, but there's a whole load more protein in meat and dairy products and it's more easily absorbed than protein that comes from plants and vegetables.

I'm always annoyed at vegetarian's attitude that they're morally superior because they don't have a banger and mash. I sometimes tell them Hitler was a vegetarian, you know. (He claimed to be, but regularly had sausage for breakfast supposedly.) I hate people tossing around claims of moral superiority, for whatever reason. It's just that the subject comes up most often with vegetarians....

^^I'll tell you why that is.

it's because everyone insists on asking the vegetarians why they are vegetarians.

then when we state our reasons the meat eaters feel like we are judging them, which we are not, we're just answering the damn question

so nowdays whenever I hear that question I just ask them them why they do eat meat, then they say that they just do and I say well there you go now shut up

What bugs me is when vegetarians inform me that they don't have a problem with people eating meat if they are willing to kill & skin the animal themselves. Why on earth would I want to kill & skin my own food? - it seems like a very messy & unpleasant task. Why should the pleasure of eating pork chops be reserved for butchers & sadists?

Might be because after you have been inside a slaughter
house, meat often suddenly seems very unapetizing
for many if they have no idea what is going on. I
have been unfortunatly and i am f-ing never ever
ever going back into a place like that again, never.
For a second i thought i was in hell. And it turned
out i was, it wasn`t mine but it was hell.

I sometimes say something similar, just to point out
that i dont eat meat, but of course i`ll eat it if i get
hungry enough. If out in the woods and i find nothing
else to eat then a fish, then that fish is dead meat.
Sometimes when i say i dont eat meat people atutomatically
go crazy and start raving about that i would eat it if i had to.
Well, duh, of course i would. I just choose to not eat it until
i have to. And it doesn`t have so much to do with the animals
as it have with the horrible stench and taste, thats my main
reason for not eating it, its not very food-like to me, not being
a vegeterain or anything, no labels please, its just that to me
meat smells like crap and tastes like s**t so of course i dont
eat it.
